this old house...

so, a while back my bud isaac and i went out and he showed me how to use my new toy. he took me out to this remote area in beaumont. he had found this old house in a field while he was working. one benefit to both of our jobs, is we get to go and see some places most people dont. so we spent about a hour just shooting and hanging out, as i learned. good times. good people

There wes just something so intriguing to this. This was their power hookup. I dont know how old this place was but I know it was old....

Friends

evidently when you buy a SLR camera, people think you know what you are doing. they will then ask you to take pictures for them, weddings, christmas cards, special events...... here are a few of my photos of people that think i know what i am doing.....

this is my cousin, about 30 min before her wedding. i was the only one allowed to take photos of her at this moment. she was so worried that certain people wouldn't show up she hid in a room and spied out the window to see who was present.....

a close friend wanted my wife and i to roll with her to the beach. we are old. her and her friend are young.  i took my camera just in case, just to keep my busy. some amazing shots were made just following her and her friends walking down the beach....

so i am trying some new stuff with my photos and one of them is HDR (high dynamic range) photos. what you do is take three photos, or auto bracket, one with - exposure, one with + exposure, and one with the correct exposure. you then layer them on top of each othet and bam, you get a photo that shows why more than the human eye could see. here are a few of my recents.

Lucas Oil Racing

so here we go. this was an event a few months ago that i shot. it was the lucas oil off road trucks in glenn helen. it was my first time and it was sick. met up with a bud from work and borrowed a lens from a friend.  canon 70-200 2.8is. great lens.  got a lot of attention from m people. musta thought i was pro. HAHAHA!! so it was good times. worst part about the wholes event was about a month later, my favorite driver died in a plane crash. that really sucked. he won the race that i saw and i got some good shots of him. that is him with his hand raised, and his truck jumoping. Long live Rick Huseman, A great guy and great driver.

First timer

so i guess i am going to do a blog. it is going to be pretty crude, and the grammer and punctuation is going to be horrible. but all it is here for is to display my photos and the stories behind them. let me start by saying, i dont know what i am doing, have very little knowledge of photography but love doing it. i shot with a canon 60d, and have a 10-22 a 24-105 and a 50mm. i use LR3 and photomatix. that about it for me, along the way i might change things up or do things different but as for now, it will be rough....
